In
every game there is a set of rules. But rules are not enough, the
players are also expected to practice game etiquette. And in the poker
universe it is very important to follow these basic rules and behavior.
Here are the poker room etiquette you should keep in mind.
Don't be foul-mouthed. Watch your language. While
online poker is a game for adults, no one likes a foul-mouthed jerk.
Don't be rude. Not everyone may be as good a poker
player like you, so avoid trash talk or dissing losing players. Don't
rub it in their faces if you beat them, you might get a doze of your
own medicine the next time.
Keep a cool head all the time. Do not create a disturbance
by arguing non-sensibly.
Don't stall the game. It's not a good strategy to
slow down the game by being inattentive or inconsiderate. It reflects
badly on your professionalism.
Wait your turn to act or place abet.
Do not gossip about other players. It is unethical
to talk about another player's poor poker ability. In the way, avoid
using profanity in reference to another player. If you have the urge
to chat with a fellow player, keep it brief and light.
Respect the dealers. Dealing cards is not as easy
as you think, it can be stressful. they work hard and long hours usually
for a minimum wage. So don't be rude to them or show displeasure by
scowling at them when they seem a little lousy. They may simply be
having a bad day.
Speak up when you notice an indiscretion at the table.
People make mistakes all the time, someone may have has placed an
incorrect bet, perhaps. When things like happen it is only fair that
you call everyone's attention.
Show your hand immediately if you think you're going to win
the pot. Don't wait for the dealer to ask you. And when you
do win, be modest
Always place the chips close enough for the dealer to rake
them in. Don't be a slob and stack your chips and interfere
with the dealings.
Keep your playing area clean. Do not clutter with
unnecessary objects. Cash, chips, and a card cover token are all you
need.
Sure they tell you to keep a poker face. But it won't
hurt to give out a friendly smile every once in a while. It helps
keep the game exciting and fun.
